UMAMI Wild Mushroom and Caramelized Onion Tart
UMAMI Wild Mushroom and Caramelized Onion Tart
Ingredients:
-1 sheet of puff pastry
-2 T olive oil
-1 onion, julienned
-2 C mixed wild mushrooms, chopped
-1/4 C pesto
-1-2 C arugula
-1 t brown sugar
-1 T apple cider vinegar
-1 T UMAMI Worcestsershire Sauce
-salt & pepper
-taleggio, grana padano or your favorite melting cheese
Directions:
Thaw puff pasty, dock generously with a fork and bake according to package directions until golden.
Heat a large frying pan on MED heat with 1 T olive oil.
Add onions and cook for 15 min, stirring occasionally.
Once golden, add brown sugar, vinegar, salt & pepper and set aside.
Return pan to burner, add 1 T olive oil and chopped mushrooms. Cook 10 min, season with salt & pepper, Worcestershire sauce and set aside.
Brush tart with pesto, evenly distribute onions and mushrooms. Top with grated or dollops of cheese and place in a 400 degree oven for 5 minutes or until heated through.
To serve, sprinkle with arugula, drizzle with your favorite UMAMI Crave the Fifth and cut into squares.
