1 cup each diced rutabaga, parsnip and carrot
1/2 onion, diced
2 ribs celery, diced
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 cups roughly chopped kale leaves
1 litre stock (vegetable or beef)
2 cloves garlic, minced

1.5 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp red wine or sherry vinegar
salt & pepper
10 oz piece of beef sirloin, small diced (optional)

makes about 8 cups
in a large saucepan on medium-high, heat olive oil. If using beef, sear the diced sirloin, generously season with salt and pepper, then add garlic.
if making a veggie soup, saute onions and garlic in saucepan for 2 minutes. Add carrots, celery, rutabaga and parsnip and cook for 5-7 minutes, until caramelized; season with salt and pepper.
add canned tomatoes and stock, bring to a simmer.
add Harvest grain blend, setting aside package of crunchy toppings.
simmer for approximately 15-20 minutes or until veggies and grains are cooked through.
add vinegar and chopped kale, stirring to combine; adjust seasoning if necessary.
